Physicists in AP, Telangana bolster strike, close shops

Upwards of 45,000 therapeutic shops in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana stayed shut today as a major aspect of an across the nation scientists' strike called by the All India Organization of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD) requesting activity from the Center against "unlawful" online offer of prescriptions.

"All the 25,000 outlets in Telangana and 20,000 outlets in Andhra Pradesh brought down their shades today. Just a couple of outlets situated in a percentage of the essential clinics are working today," Ramesh Gupta, president of AP Chemists and Druggists Association told PTI.

He said the bandh has been watched taking after the in real life of the Center in checking the "illicit online deal" of pharmaceuticals.

As per him, occupation of about 4,00,000 individuals is subject to the medication stores of both the states.
